Team Fountain Dominates the High-Stakes 2006 SKA Pro Circuit Loose Lucy Owner Takes Home $100,000 from Fort Pierce Tournament

May 8, 2006 - WASHINGTON, NC - Team Fountain has won six of the first nine tournaments held so far in the Southern Kingfish Association's 2006 season - including the first two on the Yamaha Professional Kingfish Tour. The latest big SKA winner, Loose Lucy team owner Mike Kaminsky of Charleston, S.C., received cash and prizes totaling a cool $100,000 from the Fort Pierce, Fla., contest held April 27 - 29.

The Loose Lucy team took first prize in both the Pro and Division 10 events, which were held simultaneously. Fountain's SKA Tournament Reward Program sweetened the pot with over $16,000 worth of incentives for winning with a Fountain, including a gold-and-stainless steel Rolex watch and $5,000 off Kaminsky's next Fountain fishing boat - a 38 Open with triple 275-hp Verados, which he has on order. "I was already going to buy it; it's just nice to get that incentive. My Thirty-Four Fountain is the best boat I've ever owned and trust me, I've owned every make out there," said the veteran SKA angler, who also has competed on other manufacturer's fishing teams in the past.

His team hooked up on the first day of the Fort Pierce tournament in rough conditions offshore in 65 feet of water. Jimmy Stecki grabbed the rod and landed a 50.5-lb. king with help from his brother Gary. It turned out to be the tournament-winning fish when the next day's action was cancelled due to unseasonably high winds and six- to nine-foot seas. The Loose Lucy team brought home the $40,000 Pro Division top prize; $30,000 for winning Division 10, a lucrative calcutta and Fountain's SKA Tournament Reward Program incentives. Kaminsky will make good use of the Fountain prizes in rigging his new 38, which he plans to enter in the next leg of the Yamaha Pro Tour in Fourchon, La., in June. In addition to the Rolex and the $5,000 rebate, he won $1,500 off a Myco trailer, 50 percent off a Sign Zoo Marine Wrap, $500 cash from TR-1 Autopilot Systems and a $500 gift certificate for C&H Lures.

The Loose Lucy team leads the SKA Pro Division in point standings. Team Fountain is also dominating Division 11, where Fountain fishing boats have won both legs held so far. The Division 11 points leader is Pete Tsourakis, who aced the Naples, Fla., tournament in March on Fountain 34 Four Marys and placed third in the Marco Island, Fla., tournament behind winner Chris Thomas on Fountain 34 Hold'Em Hook. Only four SKA divisions, including the Pro series, have started their 2006 tournament seasons - and Team Fountain already has finished in the money 17 times. There's a good reason Powerboat Magazine recently named Fountain Powerboats Offshore V-Bottom Boat of the Year. Hang onto your hats for the rest of the exciting SKA tournament action.
