Team Fountain Worldwide Leaves Belgium on Course for World Championship
September 9, 2007- Zeebrugge, Belgium

With their championship contention hanging in the balance Team Fountain Worldwide powered through rough seas and electrical problems to come out of the Belgian Grand Prix as the overall winner. The first stage of the event, held on Friday, provided for much excitement as the team traded the lead with rival Outerlimits four times before the midpoint of the race. Only needing to secure a top three finish, Craig Wilson throttled the boat conservatively to minimize the risk of damage. This strategy paid off as the Outerlimits team was forced to relinquish the lead to Fountain Worldwide on the final lap after having run their boat out of fuel.

Stage two of the Belgian Grand Prix was equally compelling as Fountain Worldwide battled for the lead until the third lap when a loosened ECM module forced the boat to operate on one engine. In an amazing display of the Fountain hull efficiency, Craig Wilson kept the 40’ boat on plane at 45 mph with one engine to finish the race in fifth place and pick up the additional 40 points for their overall points lead.

“We really enjoyed the first stage, as our goal was simply to go easy on the boat and secure a top three finish”, remarked Craig D. Wilson of Fountain Worldwide. “We were pleased to climb atop the podium again and despite a minor setback with our engines in stage two, we feel very confident going into the final event in Portugal”, continued Wilson.

Fountain Worldwide now holds a 130 point lead going into the Portuguese Grand Prix scheduled for September 29-30th in Portimao. In the mean time, Fountain Worldwide will proudly display their race boat in the famed Southampton Boat Show along with their UK based dealer, 1st 4 Boat Sales. Accompanying the Fountain Worldwide race boat will be the Fountain 42 Lightning of 1st 4 Boats, which serves as the official start boat of P1. Both boats will be prominently displayed in the show, which runs from September 14th-23rd.
