Super Boat International,
American Powerboat Association,
World Powerboat Racing
David, and #15 race
team, has proven to
be the most dominant
factory racing organization
in the sport. David
was trained by the world's
premiere offshore racer,
Reggie Fountain, and
they spend hours together
discussing innovative
design changes then
executing them to raise
the bar of performance
to enhance the offshore
power boating markets.
David moved from Super V to the Unlimited Super Vee (Cat Killer) boat in 2006. In 2006, the #15 Fountain Rio Roses Unlimited boat won the National and World Championships. In fact, the team won 1st overall at the Key West World Championships in November 2006. This was the first time that any V-bottom boat has won in the unlimited class in almost 20 years. David, Reggie and Team Fountain have accomplished another giant leap for the sport of offshore and their customers all over the world.
This boat is campaigning
for first overall in
the unlimited class
as the "Worlds
Fastest Racing Boat".
This boat will also
make an attempt to raise
the existing World Speed
record of 177.888 mph
later this year. On
August 7, 2004 David
and Team Fountain put
an incredible 6 miles
per hour on the existing
Super Vee world speed
record for a blistering
112.026 mile per hour
average in a sanctioned
APBA/UIM/SBI kilo.
David
and his wife Janet have
recently relocated their
horse farm from Raleigh
NC to the banks of the
Pamlico River in Washington
NC. David has recently
left his position as
Vice President of a
$100 Million North American
Energy Services company
to join Fountain Powerboats
as their
President and Chief
Operating Officer.
